I'm paralysed with fear that the thrill of life has left my body,
just like an empty shell waiting to turn to dust
The years bloom with optimism and turn to black
This happens over and over and over and over and over and over again
Constant dull ache behind my eyes
I want to crush those rose tinted glasses
beneath my feet and let the glass bleed new life into me
I once had youth on my side ’till it sold me out for the next one in line,
and turned its back on me and said your on your own,
on your fucking own
A life of hard work doesn’t always pay in full
Doesn’t always pay in full
Constant dull ache behind my eyes

I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again. jornfin
